Goal: To improve retention rates of new teacher hires within the district.  

Problem: Many first year teachers quit teaching after their first year. This leaves the district with gaps to fill when teaching positions are difficult to fill. After completing a needs analysis, it was discovered that the districts current mentor teacher program had gaps in knowledge and skills. Mentor teachers were not adequately supporting their new teacher mentees, which resulted in an increase in feeling overwhelmed or stressed, and then ultimately with those new teachers resigning. 

Solution: A training program was developed that would involve multiple modalities in order to reduce the forgetting curve and provide mentor teachers with knowledge and skills to address the most common reasons new teachers are resigning. This elearning course is one part of that program, and will be taken individually by each mentor teacher to assess their knowledge and skills after completing the training program. 

Results: A scenario based course that walks mentor teachers through the process of supporting new teachers in the areas they find to be the most challenging.

Goal: To educate employees so they understand how and why to follow HIPAA.  

Problem: Many healthcare workers unknowing violate HIPAA which results in reputation and/or financial risks. 

Solution: A demo of part of a larger HIPAA course that shows real world application of HIPAA and tests their knowledge on it. 

Results: An engaging course covering HIPAA law.

Goal: To improve map reading knowledge and skill for all learners.  

Problem: Many do not know how to correctly identify parts of a map or how to use them to read a map without digital aids. 

Solution: This short course covers the important parts of a map, and allows learners to practice identifying them. 

Results: An engaging course for map knowledge and skill building.

Tool: Storyline 360

Goal: To limit confusion when it comes to navigating the most used Google tools in this work environment. 

Problem: Similar questions about how to use Google for completing tasks were being asked. The text-based instructions were too confusing to all to follow.  

Solution: This short How-To course covers the most asked questions by providing step-by-step instructions with image, text and screencast video support. 

Results: An easy to follow How-To course for each area of confusion. Additional modules can be added as questions are asked.

Goal: To assess learners knowledge of Personal Finance decisions. 

Problem: Learners could repeat important personal finance terms, but struggled with real world application of personal finance concepts. 

Solution: This elearning problem solving activity walks learners through real world personal finance decisions and tests their knowledge of using them in real life situations. 

Results: A problem solving activity that explains the best option for each situation and places the learner at the center of every decision.

Solution: A training program was developed that would involve multiple modalities in order to reduce the forgetting curve and provide mentor teachers with knowledge and skills to address the most common reasons new teachers are resigning. This video (demo of the intro only) is the first component of the program. 

Results: A video to introduce mentor teachers to the training program.

Goal: To limit distracting emails in the workplace.

Problem: Employees were surveyed in order to narrow down their concerns over email use in the workplace. The top five concerns were included in this job aid as step by step instructions.. 

Solution: This job aid organized professional email communication tips in an easy to read format.

Results: An easy to read job aid that can be presented to employees and that they can reference as needed.

Goal: To help identify prospective college athletes and encourage them to sign up for NCAA academic eligibility to track their academic progress in high school. 

Problem: Prospective college athletics were not aware of the NCAA required courses or that they could sign up to keep track of their eligibility while in high school.  

Solution: This design document informs prospective athletes and their stakeholders of the academic requirements for NCAA college athletics. 

Results: A design document that can be presented in paper or digital format, to be used at beginning of school year meetings and posted around the school campus.

Goal: To educate employees on their responsibility for safeguarding PHI and ePHI while an employee at XYZ company.  

Problem: New employees have a higher rate of accidentally violating confidentiality and security practices regarding HIPAA.

Solution: An eLearning course for new hires to complete during their first week of onboarding. 

Results: A storyboard of the eLearning course that would be developed on HIPAA for new hires. This document allows SMEs and stakeholders to review content and leave feedback for improvement during the creation process.
